The Senate Committee at the National Assembly is currently screening President Bola Tinubu’s nominee for the position of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN.
Amupitan, joined by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo and other dignitaries, is presenting his credentials and answering questions from lawmakers as part of the Senate’s confirmation process for his appointment as the next INEC Chairman.
The nominee arrived at the Red Chamber around 12:50 pm. and was ushered in by the Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Abubakar Lado.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio welcomed Amupitan, his family, and other guests in attendance before explaining the procedure for the screening exercise.
