Ruud van Nistelrooy has quit his position as the interim head coach of Manchester United following the arrival of Ruben Amorim as Man U’s head coach.
Manchester United confirmed on its website on Monday that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club.
It read: “Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.
“Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend.
“We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.”
It was gathered that Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed.
“We wish them all well for the future. We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course,” the statement added.
Recall that Manchester United had earlier announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Head Coach of the men’s first team, subject to work visa requirements.
Amorim joined Manchester United on Monday 11 November. He will be at the club until June 2027 with a club option of an additional year.
Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football.
Highly decorated as both a player and coach, his titles include winning the Primeira Liga twice in Portugal with Sporting CP; the first of which was the club’s first title in 19 years.
