Rescue workers have recovered dead bodies of five workers from the rubbles of a construction site in Obingwu community, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.
The victims were trapped when a three-storey building under construction collapsed on them.
Though the cause of the building collapse has not been established officially, local sources in the community blamed the tragedy on alleged use of substandard material.
The source further claimed that most of the dead victims were nationals of a West African country working for a contractor.
The Abia State Police Command has nit to spoken on the matter.
