The Delta State Police Commissioner, Ari Muhammed Ali has asked residents of Asaba to disregard any sit at home order issued by faceless persons urging residents to go about their normal duties.

The CP also placed officers on Red Alerts to maintain police visibility across the state.

This declaration is coming on the heels of a message by faceless individuals that Asaba residents are warned to observe the ‘Sit At home order’ as declared by the proscribed IPOB.

However, Commissioner Ari Muhammed Ali in a press statement on Monday, declared that there is no “sit at home order either by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) or any other faceless individual or individuals”.

While urging residents to go about their lawful businesses, the Police Commissioner assured residents of their safety.

He promised that the Command is willing and able to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons who try to cause trouble in the state.

The Commissioner of Police admonished members of the public, particularly residents of Asaba and the entire Delta North district, to remain vigilant, monitor, and report any strange and suspicious movements or persons in their neighbourhood to the Command or other law enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, officers and men of the Command have been placed on red alert with the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Area Commanders, DPOs, and Tactical Commanders to maintain Police visibility across the length and breadth of the state to deploy strategies that will make the State uncomfortable and uninhabitable for hoodlums.
