A 78-year-old father identified as Benjamin Harry has allegedly killed his 30-year-old son, Kudakwashe Harry after being caught in a compromising situation with his daughter-in-law.

The incident, which occurred on January 6, 2026, in Kadoma, Zimbabwe led to the arrest of seven people.

According to H-metro, Kudakwashe returned home and discovered his father with his 22-year-old wife, Evelyn Mashava, sparking a heated argument.

It was gathered that the confrontation escalated when Benjamin allegedly picked up an iron bar and struck his son, resulting in his death.

In the aftermath, Benjamin reportedly sought help from Mashava’s brothers, identified as 18-year-old Tongai Mavhurume and a 16-year-old minor, with claims that he offered compensation involving livestock.

It is alleged the group attempted to disguise the incident by staging the scene to appear as a suicide. The body was later discovered and a police investigation quickly unravelled the alleged plot.

Those arrested include Evelyn Mashava, Mike Hwata (36), William Grasham (34) and 18-year-old Perfect Vembo. All seven were remanded in custody under case number Kadoma Rural 27/1/26.

Conflicting accounts have since emerged. Another version suggests Vembo and Grasham, described as Evelyn’s former partners, were involved in a separate confrontation with Kudakwashe that same day. Evelyn also claimed her brothers intervened to protect her from alleged mistreatment by her husband.

A post-mortem examination reportedly confirmed that Kudakwashe suffered significant head trauma consistent with being struck by an iron object. The matter remains under investigation.
