Ondo state Police command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged rape of a 5-month pregnant woman, Bukola, by a popular radio presenter and pastor of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Gbenga Filani, in Akure, the state capital.
The pregnant lady had accused Filani of having canal knowledge of her inside the church during a deliverance session.
A competent police source confirmed on Saturday that the suspect was arrested after the 19-year-old lady reported a case of rape against him.
Following his arrest, it was gathered that Gbenga was yesterday evening taken to his residence by the police for searching, as part of chain of investigations into the case.
Meanwhile, Gbenga Filani, popularly known as ‘Owuye’ has not spoken on the incident, as he was not allowed to speak with newsmen inside the police custody.
But, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Funmi Odunlami, who confirmed the development and arrest of the suspect, stated that investigation was still ongoing on the matter.
