Police in Libya have arrested a driver for attempting to smuggle six undocumented female migrants of Nigerian nationality into the country.
Migrant Rescue Watch disclosed this in a post on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
According to the post, the driver, suspected to be a human trafficker, claimed that the Nigerian nationals were his family members.
“Police patrols arrested in the Bishr area a Libyan driver for an attempted smuggling of 6 undocumented female #migrants of Nigerian nationality. The driver claimed that the female passengers were his family. All transferred to Bishr Police Dept. for legal action.”
