Men of the Ondo state police command have arrested members of a syndicate who allegedly specialize in stealing brain boxes and other valuable parts of people’s vehicles.
The suspects identified as Ifeanyi Obiefunna, aged 36 years, Joseph Agwu, aged 43 years, Obinna Uyammadu, aged 32 years, and Onyeka Okoye, aged 38 years are said to be part of a complex vehicle theft and vandalization syndicate.
Parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Akure, the state Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, said painstaking effort later led to the arrest of members of the syndicate.
He mentioned that one of the suspects, Joseph Agwu, who lives in Akure, confirmed that he sells second-hand wares, popularly known as Okrika, and serves as the informant to notify other suspects to come to the state to operate and return to Lagos.
Oladipo mentioned that the suspects will be charged to court at the end of the investigation.
