Police operatives on special assignment have arrested a 37 years old notorious cultist, Philips Omomedia, allegedly involved in series of cult related killings in Delta State.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday.
He said one automatic double barrel gun with 15 live cartridges was also recovered from the suspect by the police.
The suspect, who is an indigene of Onogo-Vor clan of Oghara, was arrested in Oghara community, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The arrest followed a series of reported cases of cultism and gun-running in Ughellli/Warri/Sapele/Oghara and its environs.
Edafe said, ‘Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a member of Aro-Bagar confraternity and suspected to be involved in a series of cult-related killings.
“Investigation is ongoing.”
