The Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspected trans-border car thieves,

The suspects identified as Ahmed Ahmed and Abubakar Adamu were arrested while on their way to the Nigeria- Niger Republic border to dispose of a Toyota Camry vehicle they had stolen in Kaduna.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Gambo Isah, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

“On 02/03/2023 at about 1145hrs, the Command succeeded in busting a syndicate of trans-border, motor vehicles thieves,” the PPRO stated. 

“Nemesis caught up with the duo of one (1) Ahmed Ahmed, alias “MARKETER”, aged 20yrs of Kabala Costain, Kaduna and Abubakar Adamu, ‘M’, aged 19yrs of Badarawa – Festac, Kaduna state, when they were arrested with a suspected stolen motor vehicle, Toyota Camry, 2002 model, ash in colour, with registration number, KANO – NSR-63BT and had an accident with it along Musawa – Matazu road while on their way to dispose same at the Nigeria – Niger Republic border.

  “In the course of investigation, five (5) master keys and two (2) fabricated keys (cross) were recovered in their possession.

Suspects confessed to have stolen the motor vehicle from where it was parked, at Kabala Costain Quarters, Kaduna state. Suspects mentioned one Ibrahim ALABUKUN, ‘M’, of Kawo Garage, who escaped police arrest, to be their ring leader. Investigation is ongoing.”
