The Oyo State Police Command has arraigned two men before the state Magistrate Court at Iyanganku, for allegedly manhandling the corpse of one Patrick Alexandra.
Two men identified as Isah Abdulkabir and Daniel Emmanuel committed the alleged offence around 2pm on September 19, 2022, in the Odogbo area of Ibadan.
The defendants were arraigned on charges bordering on conspiracy and misconduct in form of ‘manhandling of a corpse’.
Prosecuting counsel for the police, Foluke Adedosu, said the suspects indecently and improperly interfered with the corpse by dumping it in a shop, an offence contrary to sections 516 and 242 (1) (b) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
After the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charge, the magistrate, O.A. Enilolobo, admitted them to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned till February 21, 2023 for hearing
