In a poignant moment during the 73rd Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye shared a vivid vision of his eventual passing, describing a serene departure on a Sunday after a church service.
Speaking on Day 4 of the week-long convention, themed “The Overcomers,” at the Old Auditorium in Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the 83-year-old cleric told millions of congregants that he would attend church, dance joyfully, enjoy a meal of pounded yam, and then peacefully “go.”
“It’s going to be on a Sunday. I would go to Church for service, dance very well and return home. I will eat pounded yam, then I will go”, he said leading members of the Church on series of prayers on the topic ” Possessing your Possession.”
He did not specify a date, emphasizing that believers should not question how he received this revelation.
Citing 2 Corinthians 8:9, he urged Christians to reject poverty as a tool of the devil that hinders the gospel’s spread, declaring prosperity a divine right. “It’s not compulsory to die after illness,” he said, encouraging believers to claim healing and other blessings paid for by Christ.(PMN)
