Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has harped on the importance of embracing peace in any disputed land pending an amicable resolution of the contention.

This is as he also berated reports of attempts at altering already established facts on the Oyo/Osun boundary.

Governor Adeleke disclosed his position while receiving officials of the National Boundary Commission, NBC, Abuja, led by Oluwafemi Oshinaike on Wednesday in Osogbo.

The Governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, appreciated the visit as timely and commendable.

Adeleke said: “My administration is committed to addressing the development and in doing so, we will not leave any stone unturned.

“All necessary arrangements are on a daily basis, being put in place to checkmate what could have led to lawlessness leading to the breakdown of law and order.”

In the same vein, on a visit to the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Oshinaike assured that the NBC was committed to finding lasting solutions to all the communities in disputes over boundary matters.

Oba Akanbi acknowledged all the series of efforts put in place by the Adeleke administration to stem the tide of the aggravation of the crisis, which, according to Oluwo, would have been unfortunate and devastating.

“I implore the NBC officials to put in place necessary peace modalities with a view to complimenting the ones already put in place by the administration of Ademola Adeleke,” he said.

The tension it was gathered flared up once again in Ogburo, Papa, Ogun Ajo, Paku, Ejemu, Eleye, Olola and other communities in Iwo Local Government Area of the state which shares a common boundary with Oyo State
