The collation of Osun Governorship election which commenced in the early hours of Sunday, is ongoing at the INEC office in Osogbo, the state capital
Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the Osun State governorship election.
Incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), however, won in the remaining 13 LGAs.
Adeleke snatched victory from the APC candidate, Oyetola in Osogbo Local Government.
Adeleke polled 30,401 to beat Oyetola, who scored 22,952 votes.
Osogbo used to be a strong base for the APC but it lost it to the PDP this time around.
Oyetola claimed victory in Ilesha East Local Government, scoring 13,452 votes to beat Adeleke, who polled 10,969 votes to come second.
In Boluwaduro Local Government, PDP narrowly won by scoring 5,860 votes, while APC polled 5,649 votes.
The PDP also won Ila Local Government by garnering 13,036 votes, while APC got 11,163 votes to trail behind.
The PDP also won in Atakunmosa West Local Government, polling 7,750 votes while APC got 6,601 votes.
This comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collates the results of the governorship election conducted on Saturday.
