… Presents Gifts To First Baby of the year
The wife of the Governor of Osun State, Kafayat Oyetola has warned parents and guardians to shun the act of Female Genital Mutilation FGM, which, according to her, poses a lot of danger to the health of the girl child.
Mrs.Oyetola gave the warning at the State Specialist Hospital Asubiaro, Osogbo while welcoming the first baby of the year 2021.
The baby weighing 3.2kg was born to the family of Mr and Mrs Ibrahim Olalekan at exactly 1:07am of the new year day.
The wife of the Governor also used the opportunity to remind mothers of the importance of breast feeding their babies properly for the first six month after delivery with undiluted breast milk
Wife of the Governor who was accompanied to the State Specialist Hospital asubiaro Osogbo by the Commissioner for Health, Dr.Rafiu Isamotu and the Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr.Olasiji Olamiju and other wives of top Government functionaries and spoke through the wife of Secretary to the State Government Mrs Bose Oyebamiji, stressed that a well breast fed baby will be free from all forms of ailments and diseases in the society.

Mrs Oyetola also urged parents and guardians to always ensure they take proper care of their wards, most especially at this special period when Nigeria and the world at large is facing the surge of the second wave of Covid 19 pandemic.
She stated further that all and sundry in the state should continue to always observe the covid 19 protocols in order to prevent the spread of corona virus.
Mrs Oyetola who prayed for the Osun first baby of the year 2021 and the family, also presented gift items in both cash and materials to the family of the lucky baby and also extended her kind gestures to some other babies in the ward born before the new year.
