One person has been confirmed dead in another boat mishap that occured at Zumba in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The boat mishap was said to have occured on Saturday morning while travelling to the popular Saturday market.
The wooden boat was said to have been overloaded with mostly women, children and goods when it capsized.
Although the exact number of passengers have not been confirmed, local divers are still searching for the missing passengers.
The Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Inga, confirmed the incident.
According to him, one corpse has been retrieved from the river, while one of the victims was rescued alive.
