The new Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwase iii Tsola Emiko has revalidated seven more traditional chiefs after he dissolved the council days back.
Olu of Warri revalidated the chiefs on Saturday, the second day of the exercise at Ode-Itsekiri.
Some of the revalidated chiefs are Chief Isaac Jemide (Otsodin), Chief Sunday Rone (Obazuaye), Chief (Sir) P. D. Yalaju (Kenekuniraro) and Chief Francis Omatseye (Edigbe).
Others are Chief Oma Eyewuoma (Aboludero), Chief (Dr.) Mark Erumi (Chaplin) and Chief Richmond McGray (Oritseboluwo).
The monarch revalidated seven out of 11 who were earmarked for revalidation on Saturday. The others who were not revalidated were absent from the ceremony for one reason or the other.
One of them is Ologbotsere, Ayirimi Emami, whose suspension has remained controversial. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, a House of reps member who was also to be revalidated as a chief was said to be out of town.
The seven traditional chiefs revalidated by the Olu reaffirmed their support to the agenda of the new monarch to transform the kingdom.
Chief Richmond McGray, the Oritseboluwo of Warri Kingdom, underlined the significance of the ritual exercise.
He noted that it affords the king the opportunity to know his inherited chiefs and familiarise himself with them in actualizing his progressive agenda.
Chief McGray enjoined well-meaning Itsekiris, home and abroad, to partner His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III through the establishment of cottage industries to arrest unemployment and empower Itsekiri youths and women.
The entire revalidation ceremony is scheduled to end Thursday, September 9. However, the ceremony continues on Monday, the third batch as 85 traditional chiefs based at home and abroad are expected to undergo the ritual right and be revalidated as chiefs.
