The Ogun State police command has vowed to arrest the killers of the slain prospective female Corp member, Eunice Igweike, who was killed by unknown persons.

Igweike had left Abia State for the Ogun NYSC Orientation Camp in Sagamu, but she got missing along the road.

A brother of the deceased was said to have contacted the NYSC management on July 20 to report that her sister could not be reached.

Consequent upon this, the NYSC had informed security agencies, whose efforts led to the discovery of Igweike’s lifeless body on July 21 along Sagamu-Imota road.

The body, which the NYSC said is intact, has been deposited in the morgue.

The Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said a case of murder was suspected because the graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, was found in a bush path.

“The command has commenced investigation into the matter. No arrest has been made,” Oyeyemi said.

He added that the State Police Commissioner, Lanre Bankole, had directed the Homicide section to unravel the killers of Igweike.

The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Fadah, commiserated with the family of Igweike, her Ohafia community and the government of Abia State.

While assuring that security agencies were working to arrest the killers, Fadah prayed God to repose her soul.
