Ogun State House of Assembly has invited nominees for the State Independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC to appear for screening.
The Speaker of the house, Oludaisi Elemide, during plenary on Tuesday, said the nominees are to submit 30 copies each of their curriculum vitae and other credentials to the Office of the Clerk before their appearance for the screening.
The nominees whose names were forwarded by Governor Dapo Abiodun are Mr. Babatunde Adetona Osibodu, Mr. Tunji Akoni, Mr. Ayodele Bankole, Mrs. Gbemisola Onasanya and Mrs. Oluwaremilekun Olaopa.
Also at the plenary, four bills including H. B. No. 032/ OG/ 2026 Survey and Geoinformatics Bill of Ogun State, 2026, H. B. No. 033/ OG/2026- Ogun State Judicial Institute Bill, 2026, H. B. No. 034/ OG/ 2026- Ogun State Education and Skills Trust Fund Bill, 2026 as well as H. B. No. 035/OG/ 2026- Ogun State Rural Access Roads Agency (amendment) Bill, 2026 scaled first reading as the Clerk/ Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin read the bills for the first time before the lawmakers.
The bills, amongst others, sought to make provision for establishment of the State Judicial Institute Law, which will serve as a centre for professional training of staff of the state judiciary and for related matters.
Another was meant to establish the State Education and Skills Trust Fund for regulating education infrastructure and facility skills and other connected purposes as well as a bill to amend the State Rural Access Road Agency Law, 2022.
