The Nigeria Civil and Defence Corps, NSCDC has commenced training for the female squad and the Rapid Response Squad in Plateau State so as to develop a multi-dimentional approach to stem the tide of insecurity in the country.
The Commandant of Plateau State Command, Alexander Bissa Barunde while declaring open the training camp in Jos said the decision was in line with the directive of the Commandant General.
According to him, there is need for officers and men of Plateau State Command to meet the security needs of the people by putting in place security measures and strategies that will combat the numerous security challenges with a view to ensuring a safe and secured Nigeria.
He stressed that the core mandates of the NSCDC could only be achieved with adequate training and capacity building, hence his resolve to implement the directive of the CG to replicate the establishment of the Female Squad in all the 36 State Commands including the FCT.
He therefore encouraged the trainees to inculcate the habit of discipline and professionalism in discharging their duties.
