Nollywood Actor, Sir David Osagie has died hours after he was on a movie set.
The actor, who usually plays the role of a king in movies, died at 52.
His colleagues, who took to Instagram to share the sad news of his demise, said he was on set yesterday, May 3, only for them to hear of his death this morning.
Also Nollywood actress, Ngozi Ezeh confirmed his death via her Instagram account.
The thespian revealed that the deceased was not sick but slept and didn’t wake up the next day.
She wrote, “Good morning fam, I hate to say this but we have lost another Nollywood king, Sir David. He wasn’t sick, it just happened. How do we explain this, another loss in Nollywood. Oh Lord have mercy. Rest in peace, Sir Dave. I Mourn again oh I mourn ooh. This life shall, it’s all but once. Nothing dey to fight or kill body for. Chai.”(sic)
Expressing shock over the death of the iconic actor, Ibiwari Etuk, an actress, further stated that Osagie was on a film set on Tuesday.
Etuk commented, “This can’t be explained o. He filmed yesterday o went back to rest hoping to resume shoot today but never woke up … Another king role interpreter is gone …. What is this o God.”
Born Osagie Ogbeosamudia David, the late actor was also a scriptwriter, producer and professional talent developer.
