Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface took to X early Monday, October 14, to lament over the treatment received in Libya after the Libyan authorities left Austin Eguavoen’s side stranded at the Al Abaq Airport for almost 13 hours after landing in Libya.
The chartered ValueJet aircraft was in a dangerous manner diverted to the small airport away from Benghazi just as the pilot was completing his approach to the Benghazi Airport on Sunday night .
The Libyan Football Federation failed to send any reception team or even vehicles to take the delegation members from the airport to their hotel, which is said to be 3 hours away in Benghazi
Reacting, Boniface expressed dissatisfaction with how he and his teammates were treated by Libyan authorities.
He wrote: “Been at the airport for almost 13 hours no food no wifi no where to sleep . African we can do better @caf.”
