The Nigerian Medical Students Association NiMSA has released the names of the three medical students that died after their boat capsized during a cruise in Calabar on Saturday, June 24.
The association gave the names of the deceased students as Aisha Celestine Ogwu, a student at the University of Uyo, Hamza Kabir, a student at the Ahmadu Bello University, and Mustapha Tukur who was also a student at the Ahmadu Bello University.
Recall that the medical students under the aegis of the Nigeria Medical Students Association (NIMSA) came from universities across the country to attend the NiMSA annual Health Week in Calabar.
In a bid to explore the city, the students were said to have headed to the Marina Resort for a boat cruise.
Sadly, the boat capsized during the cruise. While eleven students were rescued alive, three were declared missing until their bodies were found floating on Monday morning.
