The Niger State Police Command, led by CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, has presented cheques totalling N11.4 million to 10 next of kin of deceased police personnel from 2022 and 2023 in the state.
According to him, the gesture, made on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, was part of the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes.
During the presentation, the CP condoled with the families of the deceased personnel, stating that the gesture is an indication of the IGP’s care for them.
He explained that the token is merely a gesture to help the families ameliorate their suffering, as no amount of money can bring back the souls of their loved ones.
The CP assured the families of the command’s readiness to assist them in any way.
“We pray for the repose of the departed souls. Both the families and the Police Command are in this together, and therefore you should feel free to seek for assistance from the Police Command in the state,” he said.
