Niger State Government has restricted the movement of commercial motorcycles otherwise known as Okada and the operators of tricycles popularly known as Keke NAPEP from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.
“The restriction order commences from Friday, 9th April 2021.
This followed the fracas and youth restiveness in Minna Metropolis that led to the looting and destruction of properties which affected the peace of the City.
According to a statement by the state government ” the Niger State Government has thought it wise to quickly nip in the bud all forms of disturbances by restricting the movement of commercial motorcycles otherwise known as Okada and the operators of tricycles popularly known as Keke NAPEP from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.
“Therefore, the period allowed for the operators of commercial motorcycles and tricycles is now between 6:00 am to 9:00 pm under strict compliance with laid down traffic rules and regulations which include the use of reflective jacket, plate number among others.
“There will be stop and search of other vehicles that are allowed movement within the period by security agents.
