The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA has distributed relief materials to victims of fire disaster in 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara state.
The series of fire incidents which affected 230 houses across 16 Local Government Areas of the State also affected the standard of living of most of the victims.
Head of operations Haj Zainab Sa’idu who was represented by Head of finance and Accounts Mr. Murtala Ibrahim sympathized with the victims and expressed Federal Government’s support through NEMA for the distribution of the relief items to the affected persons.
He said the relief assistance of food and non-food items is to cushion the effect of the disaster on the victims.
The Local LGAs affected include Asa, Baruten, Edu, Ekiti, Ilorin-East, Ilorin-South, Ilorin-West, Irepodun, Isin, Moro, Kaiama, Oke-ero, Offa, Oyun, Patigi and Ifelodun.
The Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Kwara State expressed their appreciation to the Federal Government & DG NEMA for always being there for the citizens.
