Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North says he has no plans of defecting from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Leonard Esegbue, former commissioner and Director General of the Ned Nwoko Campaign Organisation made the clarification following recent speculation that the senator planned to defect.
He described alleged defection from the APC as the work of “mischief makers” jealous of Nwoko’s rising political influence.
He reassured constituents in Delta North and Nigerians at large that the senator remains fully committed to the ruling party, stressing that there is no rift between Nwoko and President Bola Tinubu.
Esegbue added that the speculation was aimed at sowing discord ahead of the 2027 general elections, for which Nwoko is a staunch supporter of the President’s re-election bid.
“The rumours are baseless and only serve to create unnecessary tension. Senator Nwoko is fully aligned with the APC’s mission and will continue to pursue his political agenda within the party,” Esegbue said
He encouraged those spreading the rumours to engage in meaningful political discourse instead of circulating false information, emphasizing that any future political decisions or announcements involving Nwoko would be made within the framework of the APC.
