Nasarawa Assembly Assures 36 Aggrieved Primary School Teachers Of Absorption, Full Salary
The Chairman, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Education Science and Technology, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi has assured the 36 primary school teachers employed by the former administration of their absorption into the local government education authority.
Ogazi gave the assurance when the teachers approached the committee on their plights of non payment of full salary as their counterpart in the secondary schools.
Ogazi appreciated the teachers for their patience and understanding while assuring them of the assembly’s commitment in ensuring that they are genuinely absorbed into local local government education authority after meeting with stakeholders to resolved the issues.
He assured the teachers that the assembly will continue to monitor implementation of the process and modalities for their absorption.
The chairman, also gave some reasons why they were not engaged as secondary teachers due to their field of discipline,saying that measures has been put in place to that effect and also to fish out ghost teachers in order to absorb genuine ones.
” The 36 primary school teachers will soon be absorbed into the local government education authority after due consultations with stakeholders,” he said.
Earlier, while intimating the committee chairman on the plights of the 36 primary school teachers engaged by the former administration, the leader of the affected teachers, Abdullahi Kolo noted that since their absorption as primary school teachers in April this year, they were issued with letter of appointment and payment of their full salary as directed by Gov. Abdullahi Sule is not effected yet as been enjoyed by their colleagues in secondary schools.
The teachers appealed to the assembly for it’s intervention to enable them have their payment of full salary for quality service delivery and improved standard of education.
