Police in Akwa Ibom State have arrested one Sunday Sampson in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old pregnant child.
Sampson was arrested by the police in Nsit Ubium division for impregnating the 13-year-old girl who died after he secretly procured an abortion for her in the process.
This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesman, Odiko Macdon on Thursday.
He said that, “One Sunday George Sampson was arrested by the Nsit Ubium Division of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command. The suspect impregnated a 13-year-old girl child and secretly procured an abortion for her and she died in the process.”
Odiko said the matter has been transfered to the homicide section for further investigations, even as he said the Commissioner has urged parents to monitor their wards to avoid any form of sexual abuse.
