The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 43 years old, Rabiu Usman, or allegedly defiling an 11-year-old minor in Timdore District, Ganye Local Government Area.
The arrest follows a referral from the Chief Magistrate Court, Ganye, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.
The distraught mother of the victim said on Februay 16, the victim, while attending a wedding ceremony in Timdore village, went to a nearby house to drink water.
Unfortunately the suspect forcefully, dragged her to the rear side of the compound and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
Upon received of the report, the victim was taken to a medical facility in Ganye for medical examination and treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, strongly condemned the act and directed the Officer in Charge of the Family Support Unit of the Command to take over investigation and ensure a diligent prosecution of the suspect.
