Officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested a suspected male human trafficker and rescued the female victim in Anambra State.
NAPTIP arrested the suspect on Wednesday,May 11 in collaboration with officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service Anambra State Command.
The suspect who resides in Onitsha, in conjunction with his syndicates based in Edo state and Dubai respectively, lured the victim from Edo state to Anambra state.
The suspect was arrested at the immigration office while he was trying to procure a Nigerian passport for the victim to be trafficked to Dubai with.
Meanwhile, the victim has been taken to a safe home by NAPTIP while the investigation is ongoing.
