The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has called on passengers, cabin crew, and aviation workers to remain calm, courteous, and professional in all situations, especially while in flight or within airport premises.

This appeal was made on Saturday via FAAN’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The appeal followed two recent incidents that have sparked public debate: the confrontation involving popular Fuji musician KWAM 1, and a similar, more recent altercation aboard Ibom Air involving one Comfort Emmanson tagged “KWAM 2.”

FAAN emphasized that violence should never be an option, regardless of the circumstances. The agency urged aggrieved travelers to use formal channels for lodging complaints.

“Stay calm, stay safe: No matter the situation, violence is never the answer.

If you have a concern, visit the FAAN Customer Service Desk to lodge a formal complaint — your issue will be addressed promptly and professionally,” the statement read.

The message followed a wave of online criticism and media coverage after a flight descended into chaos due to a confrontation between KWAM 1 and airport or airline staff.

Similarly, a viral video showing Comfort Emmanson arguing with an air hostess and crew members further fueled concern over rising passenger misconduct.

FAAN also addressed aviation professionals directly in its statement, reminding them of their role in ensuring passenger safety and preserving public confidence in Nigeria’s air travel system.

“Safety and Service First: Pilots and aviation staff are reminded to prioritise passenger safety, operational excellence, and clear communication at all times to uphold trust in Nigeria’s air travel system.”

Cabin crew, in particular, were advised to remain composed under pressure.

“Service with Courtesy: Cabin crew are encouraged to maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times. Continuous training and retraining will ensure excellent service delivery and conflict-free flights.”

The Authority concluded by reassuring the public that safety and comfort remain at the core of its operations.

“Your Safety, Our Priority: FAAN is committed to ensuring safety, security, and comfort at all our airports — so every journey begins and ends with peace of mind.”
