The Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) has commenced the Valuation and Verification of all Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) Offices and Fixed Assets Statewide towards proper documentation and creation of a comprehensive Fixed Asset Register for the Agency.

Speaking during the commencement of the verification exercise, the Director, LASVO, Esv. Adekunle Awolaja, explained that the exercise was designed to enable the State keep records of government assets and ensure easy identification and location of such property.

He maintained that the exercise will help to safeguard the numerous State government assets belonging to the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State Government across the Lagos metropolis.

According to him “In carrying out this assignment, Four Consultant Estate Surveyors and Valuers, namely Messrs. Wale Ojuko & Co.; T. O. Lamidi & Co.; Biodun Lawal Consulting and Tunji Ologbon and Co., were selected to ensure prompt and accurate data gathering and analysis”.

Awolaja, therefore, appealed to all staff of the State Government, especially the MDAs, to render all necessary support to the Agency towards the successful completion of the tagging exercise.

Recall that the Lagos State Valuation Office had, in December 2020, embarked on the verification and compilation of the State Government’s fixed assets across the metropolis in line with international best practices.
