The Judicial Panel of Enquiry on the Chieftaincy Tussle between Gana and Ganmo has commenced hearing today at the premises of the Kwara State High Court of Justice, Ilorin.

The Chairman of the Panel, Hon. Justice Ibrahim Adebayo Yusuf, in his welcome remarks disclosed that the panel, among others, is to find a lasting solution to the Chieftaincy tussle which has been lingering between the two Communities for over a decade.

Justice Yusuf explained that the panel has called for submission of memoranda, commencing with Gana Community and other related documents that could assist the panel in its findings.

The Chairman thanked the people of Gana Community for the confidence reposed in the panel and assured that members of the panel would discharge the assignment with utmost fear of God in the bid to ensure permanent solution to the age-long Chieftaincy crisis.

In their presentation, the Gana Community, represented by Barrister Joseph Sunday Bamigboye commended the State Government for setting up the panel of enquiry.

He further disclosed that they have complete confidence in the members of the panel, assuring that the panel would be fair and just to the two parties and in their final recommendations to Government.
