Kebbi State Government has described as untrue claims that civil servants, traditional leaders and business men with no political affiliation with APC are being maltreated by Governor Nasiru Idris-led administration.

The Chief of Staff to Kebbi State Governor, Barr. Atahiru Maccido made this clarification while fielding questions with Journalists at his country home of Birnin-Kebbi shortly after Governor Idris addressed the people of the State over his Victory at the supreme Court.

He explained that it was a pure imagination of those who were unhappy with the rapid transformation of the state as recorded by the Governor within the short time of his stay in office

Maccido, therefore, called on the people of good will across the State to turn deaf ears to such malicious rumours by rumour mongers.

The Chief of Staff noted that quality roads were being constructed across the state, fertilizers and palliative were distributed to members of the public and recently CNG water pumps and solar water powered pumps were given to farmers and all of these were done without consideration to party affiliation to political party but in the interest of bringing development to the state.

According to him, Government has been paying salaries of workers promptly in addition to continued payment of pensions and gratuities to retirees because it was the responsibility of our administration to do so and therefore noted it was unfortunate for some unscrupulous elements to cook up and spread stories capable of destabilizing the peace in Kebbi.

He stated that the period of litigation had passed, adding that it was necessary to close ranks and sheath their swords by joining hands with Governor Idris led Administration to bring about positive changes that would in the next eight years place Kebbi above other states in the country in the area of infrastructural and socio economic developments.

“Let me assure the people of Kebbi State that the present government would protect the fundamental rights of every citizen. We shall make sure that all the towns, cities and villages are provided with basic necessities of life in order to promote peaceful coexistence amongst them,” he said.

He further stated; “This administration has no time to waste on trivial issues that would distract its attention as contained in such rumours. We are mainly committed in providing gainful employment to our teeming youth through commerce and agriculture. By so doing we would fight poverty. This is the mission of Governor Idris (Kauran Gwandu-led) Government”.
