Thirteen people have been killed and seven others injured in a series of attacks across communities in Zangon Kataf, Kauru and Chikun local government areas of Kaduna state.

The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan announced this on Friday while giving an update on security in the state.

Aruwan who said government received the news with sadness said fifty six houses, sixteen motorcycles were also burnt in the attack.

According to him, the armed bandits attacked and killed one Irmiya Godwin while his brother escaped as they returned from their farm in Gora Gan village in Zangon Kataf.

“In another incident, the bandits attacked Kizachi village in Kauru local government and killed ten persons, leaving four others injured.

“Fifty-six houses and 16 motorcycles have been razed, with several barns raided and burnt.

“The injured are receiving treatment in hospital.

Masaka and Kurmin Kaduna villages in Chikun local government of the state have also been attacked, with two persons killed and three others injured.

The Nasir El-Rufai led government in the state has received the report with sadness.

He prays for the repose of the souls of the slain, while sending condolences to their families.

He also wishes the injured citizens quick recovery.
