Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Saturday returned to Ilorin, amidst rousing welcome by jubilant supporters.
The senator had not been to Ilorin since the his Party was defeated in the 2019 general election, by the All Progressives Congress.
His party lost the governorship poll and Saraki also lost his senate seat.
Saraki said he was in town to celebrate the 8th anniversary of his dad, Senator Olusola Saraki and also the 25th anniversary of Emir Sulu Gambari, the Ilorin monarch.
The huge crowd first received the former senate president at the Ilorin International Airport and later led him to the Emir’s Palace.
After, he left to join prayers for his dad at the family’s GRA residence.

The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir led the prayers.
Also present was his younger sister, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, who is the Minister of State for Transport.
