President Bola Tinubu planned visit to Abia State for the commissioning of the Aba Integrated Power Project; a Geometric Power Plant in Aba has been postponed.
The powerplant located in Osisioma local government area of Abia State was initially scheduled for commissioning on Saturday, February 24th.
But a statement issued by the management of Geometric announced the new communing date as Monday, February 26th, 2024.
Event though the reason for the postponement was not given, the statement read;
“We wish to notify you that the Presidency has shifted the commissioning date for the Aba Integrated Power Project (Aba IPP) from Saturday, February 24, 2024, to Monday, Feb 26, 2024.
“We hope that your schedule will accommodate this change and we apologize for any inconvenience this date change may cause you. We would be most delighted to see you at the event on Monday.”
It was gathered that the Independent Power Company was ready for power generation and distribution within the nine local government areas since August 2023 but was delayed till this year because of the non-supply of gas to the plant.
