The Senator Representing Senator Rochas Okorocha has described as worrisome and disheartening the death of more than 100 people in an explosion at an illegal oil refinery in a forest at Abaezi, in Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area.
The Senator who is representing lmo West Senatorial District, in the National Assembly called on the Minister of State for Petroleum, to set up a judicial panel of inquiry to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the explosion.
Okorocha in a release signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, and made available to newsmen in Owerri, Imo State capital said unraveling the cause of the fire will help avert future occurrence.
The former two-term governor of lmo State expressed regret that, for some time now, the Orlu zone has been in the news for the wrong reasons.
The former governor added that the ugly and disturbing stories of killings or deaths in the zone have become unbearable.
He prayed that God to console the families affected by this disaster and give the souls of all those who lost their lives in the bloody incident eternal rest.
