Secretariat of Nnewi South Local Government Area in Ukpor Anambra State was on Thursday March 31, attacked and burnt down by gunmen.
The gunmen also killed one of the security men at the Council Secretariat, causing tension in the area.
Anambra State Police Command spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident but said “It is a suspected case of arson, the information is still sketchy.”
Ikenga also said that more operatives had been deployed in the area and Fire Service was contacted.
