Unknown gunmen have killed a senior official of the NG-CARES programme in Nasarawa State, Mallam Hassan Yahaya Egwa.
The NG-CARES programme is a multi-sectoral initiative designed by the Federal Government to provide immediate relief to the vulnerable and poor Nigerians who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was gathered that Egwa was shot dead on Wednesday night, August 14, 2024, at his new residence in the Angwan Mai Matasa area of Lafia metropolis.
The deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites on Thursday.
