A medical doctor with the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, Dr. Michael Anazodo, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The incident reportedly occurred at Anazodo’s residence in the Shabu area of Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Saturday, September 27, 2025 around 10:45 pm.
Similarly, gunmen have also kidnapped on Saturday night was a lecturer with the state-owned Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Mrs. Abiye Emezi, in Shabu.
Palpable fear has now gripped neighbors and other residents of the area following the unfortunate incident.
Neighboring residential areas, notably Sabon Pegi Shabu, Ombi I and II, had reportedly witnessed multiple incidents of kidnapping in the past few weeks, with little being done by the government to curtail the menace and ensure adequate security of lives and property.
