A former governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, Wednesday, criticized 36 states governors in the country, saying that they are “selfish persons” who lacked any drive towards development.
He said that rather than blaming the President, Muhammadu Buhari, for the challenges facing the country, the governors should accept responsibility full responsibility for their lack of focus and vision for the states.
Yuguda stated these in Abuja shortly after being unveiled as the Director-General and national coordinator of the Tein Jack-Rich Presidential Campaign Organisation.
Jack-Rich, an oil magnate and founder, Belema Oil producing Limited, who is an indigene of Rivers State is a presidential aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress.
Yuguda said, “I have worked with many governors both in my first and second tenure and I know the mentality of most of our governors and unfortunately most of our Nigerian governors are not development-driven. Their focus is not on developing Nigeria. It is something else. They know better.
“If they (governors) focus on building Nigeria today, the country would have been a different place. It is not about the President. It is about who is in the field making the difference. If they (governors) had a shared vision of a great country, Nigeria would have been one of the greatest countries”, he stated.
