Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo has ordered the reopening of the access road to the Zuma 828 coal mining site blockade in the state to allow operations resume.
In a strategic move to enhance security and restore mining operations in the state, the Executive Chairman/CEO of Etazuma Mining and Industries, Dr. Innocent Ezuma held high-level meetings with the state governor; and the Commissioner of Police, Miller Gajere Dantawaye.
These engagements focused on economic stability, security collaboration, and the resolution of the Zuma 828 coal mining site blockade.
During the courtesy visit to the state Government House, Lokoja, the capital, Ezuma joined the governor and the Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Engr. Bashir Abubakar Gegu to deliberate on the blockade of the Zuma 828 coal mining site and the increasing incidents of illegal mining.
At state Police headquarters, Ezuma reaffirmed his company’s commitment to partnering with law enforcement agencies in fostering a secured business environment in the state.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Chukwuka Bertrand-Onuoha, for his unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order, wishing him a successful retirement.
Both parties agreed to hold a follow-up meeting in Abuja to develop a comprehensive strategy that would not only curb illegal mining but also strengthen the mining sector’s contribution to the state’s economy.
