Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointment of Mr. Paul Maigida Tino as the state head of civil service.
In a statement issued by Mr Yusuf Sanda, chief press secretary to Governor Kefas, it is indicated that the development was due to the retirement of the former Head of Civil Service of the State and Governor Kefas’s desire to fill the same position on merit and qualification.
The statement also indicates that the appointment follows the completion, submission, and recommendation of the screening and recommendation committee for a qualified and suitable candidate for the position.
“The screening and recommendation committee for a qualified and suitable candidate for the position was to ensure fairness.
“All 35 permanent secretaries in the state were invited for the exercise by the committee, but only 15 of them presented themselves for the robust screening.
“Out of the 15, 7 candidates scored between 66 and 86 points and were recommended as suitable candidates before the Governor, while Mr Paul Maigida Tino scored the highest point in the final test to make him the most qualified candidate for the appointment.
