Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in his commitment to safeguarding the environment has implemented an immediate ban on tree burning for charcoal in the State.
This step is crucial to combat deforestation and preserve the natural resource and preserve the environment.
The Governor stated these when traditional rulers that is the First Class Chiefs paid him a visit, led by esteemed Lamido Adamawa at the Presidential Lodge in Government House, Yola.
Governor Fintiri thanked them for their presence and support on this important occasion, while promising them that, he will not take the second term victory for granted, claiming that the next four years will be even greater than the first.
Fintiri expresses his profound gratitude to the traditional rulers for their prayers and continuous support, promising to reciprocate by assuring the safety and security of every citizen, as he believes that security is everyone’s responsibility.
He told the traditional rulers that he will continue to prioritize education, healthcare, rural and urban development reforms.
He also vowed that his government will give farmers with the necessary inputs to boost agricultural output and ensure a bountiful harvest for the betterment of the communities and State as a whole.
Representing the Lami Adamawa, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa), expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Fintiri for consenting to continue the traditional part of the celebration, which had been momentarily postponed due to the challenges caused by COVID-19. Saying his understanding and consideration are much appreciated.
