The Federal Government is collaborating with the Kebbi State Government on finding permanent solution to marine transport accident on the water ways.
The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, gave this indication during a condolence visit to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Sunday on the fatal boat mishap at Warrah, Yauri Emirate.
The Attorney-General narrated that President Muhammadu Buhari was aware of the effective action by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu on making our water ways safe in maritime transportation which the Federal Government would consolidate upon.
The Minister re-echoed the exceptional and sincere condolences of President Muhammadu Buhari and himself on the loss of lives of several people in the tragic boat accident that left the entire nation in deep shock.
In response, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu immensely thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for exhibiting profound sympathy to the people of Kebbi State on the unfortunate incident that led to the death of more than one hundred persons.
He equally thanked the President for giving orders to the Federal Inland Water Ways Authority to removing obstacles from rivers towards ensuring free, safe and smooth marine transportation of passengers and goods.
