The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command CP Haruna G. Garba has confirmed the arrest of a 16-year-old boy, Emmanuel John for alleged killing.
The FCT police boss who spoke during a press conference at the command headquarters on Friday, said the incident followed a fight between the victim, Monday John and his wife.
According to the CP, the suspect who was angered by the fight between the two parents, took sides with his mother and allegedly killed the father using a mortar pestle.
He said,
“It is also interesting to note that one Emmanuel John, age 16 years was arrested on 2nd May, 2023 for killing his father by name Monday John.
” It all happened when the suspect’s mother and father engaged in a physical fight.
“The suspect took sides with his mother and used a mortal pestle and hit hard on the father’s head which eventually led to his death. The suspect will be arraigned in juvenile court at the conclusion of the investigation”.
