He empathised with the affected families, describing the monetary support as a token gesture the government, maintaining that no amount of financial compensation can make up for the lost lives and the gallantry of the fallen officers.

Admonishing the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the money in a way that will gladden the heart of the deceased, Soyannwo reassured the families and residents of the State government’s determination to always work for the good and wellbeing of the masses.

In his words: “The gesture is in line with the Governor’s policy of ensuring the welfare of security personnel as well as boosting their morale towards the effective performance of their duties in protecting the lives and property of citizens in the State, which is in tandem with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda on Security and Good Governance”.

In his remarks, the Director of Special Services, Office of Chief of Staff, Mr. Morakinyo Akinrinade, expressed the commitment of the present administration to consistently compensate the next- of-kin of Police Officers that passed away while on active service in the State.

Speaking on behalf of the two beneficiary families, a son of one of the deceased, Master David Omale, expressed their gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for the gift, while wishing the State government greater success and impact on the lives of Lagosians.
