The Federal Government has announced a relaunch of the Nigerian gas flare commercialisation programme (NGFCP).
This was disclosed by Gbenga Komolafe, chief executive officer (CEO), NUPRC, at an event marking the relaunch.
Komolafe said the move was on the heels of a submission by the NUPRC programme management team, set up by the federal government to coordinate the implementation of the NGFCP.
He added that the NGFCP was also modified to reflect current flare disposition.
“A comprehensive audit of the flare gas portfolio and facilities’ disposition across the industry, as well as an in-depth assessment of the prevailing operational realities in producing areas and changes in the wider macro-economic environment, has been carried out by the commission; towards charting the optimum path forward for the programme,” he said.
Komolafe also asked bidders to visit the NUPRC website.According to him, the formal rework of the programme was to readjust it with the objectives of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
